With summer coming into full swing, many people are starting to spend more time outside, reconnecting with the fields of nature that have reblossmed. Nature acts as a natural healer, relieving the mind of stress, distractions, and pain. The relationship between nature and spirituality is a deep and meaningful connection. Nature acts as a big tool, helping to guide your spiritual journey and reconnect with your mind, body, and soul. Though some may underestimate nature and its effects, it actually serves as a powerful force that benefits everyone, even if you are not into spirituality.

The Relationship Between The Earth and Spirituality
The Earth and spirituality have a deep and complex relationship, one that most people don't even realize. The Earth has a natural vibration called the Schumann Resonance, which refers to the natural electromagnetic waves that move beneath the Earth's surface. This vibration is usually at 7.83 Hz, but can fluctuate between 7.5 Hz and 8.5 Hz. But what is so important about this vibration? This 7.83 Hz frequency actually aligns closely with the human brain's theta and alpha wave patterns (4 to 12 Hz), which is associated with relaxation and meditative states. To put it simply, the Earth's natural frequency synchronizes with the human's brainwaves and helps to promote relaxation and reduce stress.
Birds also play a part into the healing power of nature. A bird's chirp has a frequency that ranges from 1,000 to 8,000 Hz. When a bird chirps, it signals that an environment is safe and it helps reduce stress by decreasing one's heart rate, lowering cortisol levels, and reducing blood pressure. It also improves one's psychological well-being by decreasing anxiety, and lowering feelings of paranoia.
How Can I Use Nature in My Spiritual Journey?
There are countless ways that one can utilize nature to help guide them in their spirituality journey and improve their mental health. Here are a few that you can follow.
Walk Outside Barefoot: Walking barefoot when outside helps to connect your body to the Earth and can relieve feelings of stress and anxiety. For your safety, make sure the ground is safe before walking barefoot and proceed with caution if wanting to walk on uneven or wet grounds.
Find a quiet, calm space: Finding a spot in nature that is away from urban and suburban sounds and views allows you to listen to the natural sounds of the Earth while enjoying the beautiful view. These two aspects combined create a calm environment that helps to decrease stress and anxiety.
Go on a scenic hike: Moving your body is a great way to improve your mental health, and walking through nature provides a scenic view that calms the mind and body down.
Participate in yoga or meditation outside: Yoga and meditation is a great tool in your spiritual journey, and doing it outside is even better. Find a nice spot to move your body and calm your mind, or join local classes that host yoga and meditation sessions outside.
